Holocaust Theater Archive conference to be held in Miami in May

By Casey Craig, National Jewish Theater Foundation

The National Jewish Theater Foundation / Holocaust Theater Archive is pleased to announce its inaugural conference coming up in May. Set to take place in two sessions, May 15th & 16th and May 22nd & 23rd, the goal of this upcoming conference is to define and strengthen our comprehensive Holocaust-related theater research and production archive. This invitation-only, working two-day conference is funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Conference participants will spend two days dialoguing and relating to critical questions confronting the present and future development of the Holocaust Theater Archive. We will lead a discourse on the framework of the archive’s identity, research and website material, and related productions. This event will be restricted to attendees who have been chosen for their expertise across a wide breadth of subject areas relating to the nature of this website.

The Holocaust Theater Archive conference will feature groundbreaking discourse between prominent Holocaust scholars, historians, playwrights and theatre practitioners. Some of the many notable guests scheduled to participate include: members of the HTA Advisory Board Dr. Michael Berenbaum, Dr. Alvin Goldfarb, Dr. Haim Shaked, Dr. William L. Shulman and Dr. Jeffrey R. Solomon; Samuel French Vice President Abbie Van Nostrand; and Managing Director of the USC Shoah Foundation, Kim Simon.
