TU Dance May 2013 update

By Abdo Sayegh Rodriguez, TU Dance Center

TU Dance is getting ready for the closing of its ninth season at The O’Shaughnessy, May 31- June 2, in Saint Paul, MN.  Two new works by Uri Sands: A triptych of duets titled No Middle Name, and Escapades– an adventurous full-company work exploring themes of vice and escape of the everyday; and Make Amends, New York choreographer Camille A. Brown’s new piece, which was specially commissioned for this concert by The O’Shaughnessy.  Also in the program is repertory work by Dwight Rhoden, B Sessions.

Education programs at TU Dance Center continue to expand, providing a broad range of opportunities for youth, teen, pre-professional and professional dancers.  We are thrilled to be featured on this month’s cover of nationally circulated Dance Teacher Magazine.  The article, “Twin Cities Titans,” cites our rigorous and multi-disciplinary approach to technical and artistic training, how we connect young dancers to professional artists, and our commitment to students in underserved schools and beyond.
