Margarita Cabrera presents “Space in Between”

Margarita Cabrera burst onto the contemporary art scene a few years ago at Art Basel Miami Beach when she showed a crazy life size VW Bug made out of vinyl (see image below). It was an instant sensation. Cabrera was recently a resident at the Knight Foundation-funded McColl Center for Visual Art in Charlotte, NC where she presented her project “Space in Between.” In producing “Space in Between,” Cabrera worked with displaced immigrants on a project showing the disconnect between third world production and first word consumption.  Above is a video their experiences.
