Celebrate NoDa this weekend

We all know NoDa rocks, but at a festival this Saturday, July 27, NoDaRioty, the neighborhood’s nonprofit arts committee, will celebrate that fact with a new festival- NoDa Roxx. Taking place on Cullman Avenue from 12-8 p.m., the festival is free and open to all ages. There will be live music, field day contests, artist booths and live art projects.

Juicebox, a children’s educational music project, will kick off the festival at 12 p.m., with other more adult friendly bands following. NoDa Records musicians Asleep in the Weeds and Bums Lie will perform, followed by the synthesized hypnotic beat of Stamper. More than 40 different artists will also set up booths to sell and discuss their work. Expect everything from the mixed media works of Leif Johansen to the painted clutches of My A La Mode, along with metal jewelry and  upcycled art.

When hunger and thirst set in the festival has you covered. Food truck, Sunrise Grill and King of Pops, a specialty popsicle cart, will be there, as well as NoDa Brewery and Birdsong Brewery.
