Charlotte Ballet is incredibly proud of Associate Artistic Director Patricia McBride’s 2014 Kennedy Center Honor. To help celebrate, Charlotte Ballet is inviting the community to show its #PattiPride on social media.

McBride and her fellow honorees – Al Green, Tom Hanks, StingandLily Tomlin – will be celebrated at a gala at the Kennedy Center Opera House Sunday, December 7, 2014. The Honors Gala will be broadcast on the CBS as a two-hour primetime special Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at 9 p.m.

McBride joined Charlotte Ballet in 1996 after a remarkable career with New York City Ballet.

She is associate artistic director in addition to serving as the master teacher of the Charlotte Ballet Academy. She also serves as associate artistic director and master teacher at the Chautauqua Institution in New York. McBride is married to Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Charlotte Ballet’s president and artistic director, and they have two children and three grandchildren. She and Bonnefoux won the ASC Honors-Lifetime Achievement in the Field of Arts Award in 2008. In November 2014, McBride was awarded the key to the city of Charlotte. McBride is currently helping to stage part of Bonnefoux’s Nutcracker, presented by Charlotte Ballet December 12-23 at the Belk Theater.
