Approximately 1,000 participants per year in Ready to Learn workshops will increase understanding of and develop skills to promote literacy. Participants will use techniques learned to help the children in their care enter school with the skills they need to succeed. New spotlights will enhance understanding of literacy development among viewers and make them aware of Ready to Learn workshops in their communities. Large institutions like WHYY and PBS are important to underserved communities, helping to improve the quality of life and becoming one avenue for information sharing and relationship building.
