The Waccamaw Community Foundation is a non-profit originally formed as an affiliate of the Foundation for the Carolinas. This grant aims to build ties amongst leaders in the many municipalities that make up the Grand Strand area, so that they can tackle regional issues together. The funding will be used for a one-year pilot program of the American Leadership Forum curriculum, which enables local leaders to explore the interconnections of communities and strengthen their collaborative leadership skills. Participants will also explore ways to fund the program into the future.
