Over the next 12-16 months Localocracy will launch its product in more than two dozen communities, including a partnership in Boston with The Boston Globe and with several nonprofit publications.

Its platform allows residents to communicate across multiple news and content sites, for example, readers of the Arlington Advocate’s Wicked Local web site and readers of the Boston Globe’s YourTown Arlington web site will be able to trade comments without leaving those respective publications’ Web sites.

Overall the Localocracy platform aims to create a more robust civic dialogue and create the possibility of real civic action resulting from discussions on local issues.
