To support an expanded KaBoom! model to include expanded training for volunteers and capacity building for the local sponsoring nonprofit in nine playgrounds builds in Akron, Miami and Detroit

Women of Tomorrow: Philadelphia, Detroit, Charlotte, Palm Beach

To support the expansion of this Miami-based mentoring program into four Knight communities: Philadelphia, Detroit, Charlotte and Palm Beach

Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program

To engage 120 African-American male high school students in improving their academic outcomes and in mentoring 240 K-3 students

Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan

To supplement an existing donor-advised fund

Digital Public Library of America

To include Knight-community libraries in the creation of a national digital library network

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities

To analyze the impact of federal and state budget proposals on Knight priority areas and help grant partners access and use budget and tax policy data

BME Fund

For the BME Fund which will provide grants to black men in Detroit and Philadelphia who have shared their stories and are engaging others in strengthening their cities

Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit

To feature artists who show exceptional promise in the field and who are interested in democratic and collaborative practices in their art-making through the emerging artist exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD)

Living Cities

To support Living Cities and the Integration Initiative, a multidisciplinary focus on both neighborhood and system transformation in five cities, including St. Paul and Detroit
