Got A Big Idea?

idea lightbulb As a national foundation with local roots, we seek opportunities that can transform both communities and journalism and help them reach their highest potential. We believe nothing big happens without a big idea, nothing new without a new idea. In every project we fund, the idea comes first.

If you have a big idea, we want to hear from you!

There are three options:

1) Apply for a grant

Your idea may qualify for a grant from Knight Foundation. The best way to find out more about our programs and your eligibility is to visit our web site for a self-guided tour: http://www2.knightfoundation.org/apply.

2) Join the Knight News Challenge contest

This international contest awards up to $5 million annually to innovators with ideas for using digital media to transform community news. Find out more at www.newschallenge.org and sign up for the mailing list there to be notified when the Knight News Challenge opens for applications again.

3) Ping us

Use the form below to unbureaucratically “ping” Knight Foundation if you think you have a transformational idea. Explain it in as few words as possible. For legal reasons, we cannot guarantee confidentiality. We cannot respond to every ping. But we promise to read what you've sent.
