Tubman Gets $1M in Gifts; Museum $7.5M Short to Complete Building

Tuesday morning, about 70 people gathered inside the Tubman's unfinished structure on downtown Macon's Cherry Street to kick off the museum's new capital campaign with the announcement of nearly $1 million in gifts. With that money and about $1 million left over from the museum's previous campaign, the Tubman still needs another $7.5 million to complete the new facility, museum officials said.
