BVU: The Center for Nonprofit Excellence received a $400,000 grant to connect Akron’s diverse young business professionals with our nonprofit community and increase the probability of retention as they take on leadership positions and become engaged in the community. Matching nonprofits and young professionals as potential board members will include programs such as a “speed-dating” event, an annual training on the duties of a board member, a minority board member pipeline initiative, and engaging young professionals to serve as volunteer consultants.
