Just in time for the art world to arrive in Miami Beach for the fairs, the Knight Foundation has announced a gift of $23 million in funding for the arts in South Florida. This brings the foundation’s total donations to the arts in the area to $86 million over the last six years.
Some institutions that will benefit from this donation include the Wolfsonian-FIU, which houses a collection of important art and design objects from the modern era; the Miami City Ballet; and the Design and Architecture High School and the New World School of the Arts. The foundation will also extend its Knight Arts Challenge, which offers funding from a $9 million endowment to arts-related projects.
Knight Foundation supports transformational ideas that promote quality journalism, advance media innovation, engage communities and foster the arts. We believe that democracy thrives when people and communities are informed and engaged. For more, visit www.knightfoundation.org.
