Although the Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin-based nonprofit Community Foundation of South Wood County has changed its name, its mission remains the same, organization leaders said Tuesday.
Incourage Community Foundation, formerly the Community Foundation of Greater South Wood County, assumed its new name Sunday -- the result of a two-year process to better identify the foundation's work and to foster a more proactive, community-led approach of inspiring change, CEO Kelly Ryan Lucas said in a news release.
The new brand, which "speaks both to action of encouraging others and the attitude of being courageous," will better identify what the organization's work is and make the group more accessible to people in the community, she said.
