Susan Patterson joined Knight Foundation in July 2001. She was director of the community partners program in 2005-06 and has been program director for communities in Georgia and South Carolina, in addition to Charlotte. She also works on the Knight Community Information Challenge team.
A journalist for 30 years, Patterson is the former editor and publisher of The Union-Recorder in Milledgeville, Ga. She also worked for Lake Norman Magazine, The Charlotte Observer and The Charlotte News.
Patterson obtained a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee.
