Knight Foundation and VP Arts Dennis Scholl secure four Suncoast Emmy nominations

It’s a big year for Knight Arts. Knight Foundation and VP/Arts Dennis Scholl have been nominated for four Suncoast Emmys.

Art Loft Episode #236, a Knight-funded program created in conjunction with WPBT, was nominated for Arts/Entertainment – Program Special. Dennis Scholl produced and directed two of the three Art Loft segments in the nominated episode: One about Tracey Emin, a famed female artist in Great Britain who held a show at MOCA, and the other about Nicholas Hlobo, a South African artist who staged an opera set at Locust Projects December-February 2013 .

Deep City: The Birth of Miami Sound, a documentary about Deep City Records, Florida’s first black-owned record label, was nominated for Nostalgia Program, Editor and Writer. Deep City was co-directed and co-produced by Scholl.
