To engage diverse audiences during the Akron Civic Theatre's 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons with community-based programming that represents an array of cultures and artistic-disciplines.
The theater opened in 1929 as the Akron Loew’s. In 1965, the Akron Jaycees Foundation purchased the facility and created the Community Hall Foundation to operate the theater. In 2002 The Civic re-opened following a $22.5 million restoration project designed to bring the facility up to modern standards.
