Into The Wild

Tonight at Carol Jazzar gallery is Into The Wild a group show featuring works by local and national artists such as Ai Kijima, Elizabeth Condon, John DeFaro, Luis Garcia-Nerey, Lilian Garcia-Roig, Enrique Gomez De Molina, Juanita Meneses, and Michelle Weinberg.

The exhibition’s theme is a straightforward one, dealing with nature and all its primitive wonder. Political philosopher Thomas Hobbes once described the state of nature as solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short; but Into the Wild’s interpretation seems to take on a more idealized, serene, and even mysterious tone. No doubt the show will feel more at home in the Miami Shores suburban enclave where the Carol Jazzar gallery is located, with the warm subtropical winds wafting and rustling through the palms of Jazzar’s backyard reception, than it would in a more traditional urban storefront gallery.
