[Ce n'est pas nous], an experimental performance ensemble founded by choreographer and dancer Priscilla Marrero, sculptor and filmmaker Ferrán Martín, and musician/composer Matthew Evan Taylor, will present “The Emerald House” as part of the Artists in Residence program at Inkub8, a Knight Arts grantee.
“The Emerald House” examines the ideal body established by the masters of modern architecture, where clean lines, sharp angles and the absence of ornamentation led to a simplification of form.
This interdisciplinary collaboration brings together disparate elements—sound, movement, image—to erect a conceptual structure that deconstructs the origin of the ideal body. “The Emerald House” is the result of a month-long residency where the artists have been given space to develop their project.
On Friday, September 27, “The Emerald House” will premiere with a feedback-and-discussion session after the performance.
"The Emerald House" premieres Sept. 27 at 8 p.m., and there will be a post-performance discussion session . A second performance will take place on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $15.
